But who would have thought that rumors would bring an even wilder name, one that is probably all set to make their acting debut on Netflix? Yes, new rumors now claim that former ace cricketer Sourav Ganguly is set to make his acting debut with the streaming giant in Neeraj Pandey’s show Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. Is Sourav Ganguly in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter?
Produced by Friday Storytellers, Neeraj Pandey takes on the mantle of showrunner for the series, with the directorial vision of Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray. Khakee: The Bengal Chapter has been making waves with its casting, as it brings together Prosenjit and Jeet, which has already kept fans wanting more. But it turns out there is even more to the story, as new reports suggest that Sourav Ganguly is set to make his acting debut in the show. At the trailer launch event yesterday, creator Pandey even reacted to the rumors.
As per an India Today report, Sourav Ganguly is said to be playing a police officer in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter and has even shot promotional content at Binodini Studio in Kolkata. While these claims have yet to be confirmed by the makers, at last night’s trailer launch event, Neeraj Pandey addressed the speculation without revealing anything, saying, "As far as Sourav is concerned... keep looking."
