Sound of Freedom had a huge theatrical release in July. It tells a story about a federal agent, who after rescuing a boy from ruthless child traffickers, learns the boy's sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.
Sound of Freedom OTT release
Amazon Prime has now unveiled that the movie will make its debut on December 26 on the OTT platform. Sound of Freedom has collected $184 million in North America and $242 million globally. It became the first independent release in post-pandemic times to surpass $100 million solely in the US and Canada and currently ranks as the 9th biggest domestic film of the year.
Directed by Alejandro Gómez Monteverde, the movie stars Jim Caviezel, Eduardo Verástegui, Cristal Aparicio, Mira Sorvino, Bill Champ and Kurt Fuller.
Back in July, Sound of Freedom drew severe criticism upon release, with critics accusing it of sensationalising child exploitation and promoting political conspiracy theories.
