Now, the acclaimed musician announced the film at her concert – Baul Jatra – in the US. During her concert at Times Square On April 13, she first introduced Soumyajit and announced the film. “Times Square hosted probably the biggest Bengali New Year celebration. It was around 9:30 pm and it was almost magical when she announced the film there,” said the young director.

Joyguru will be produced by Aparna Dasgupta and Aniruddha Dasgupta of California-based global studio Adited Motion Pictures along with Soumyajit's production house LOK Arts Collective (India/UK). "MunsurAli ,Chairman-London City Corporation : Department of Culture and Heritage, Founder-Director Moringa Studios and Paris based producer Chayan- Ambassador of Toulouse city & President, Gange Sur Seine , Paris, have joined as co-producers. We begin filming in 2025. The team is now looking forward to participating in the Cannes Film Market during the festival. It feels like a full circle to me. In 2017, I acted in a French film Crash Test Aglaé that was there at Cannes. Now I will attend it as a filmmaker. Also, Cannes Film Market is a big exposure for us,” said the director.

Soumyajit debuted in filmmaking with #homecoming which features Sayani Gupta, Hussain Dalal, Tushar Pandey, Soham Majumdar, Plabita Barthakur, and others in 2022. “I started listening to Parvathy Baul while writing #homecoming. Her voice and music got stuck with me. When I met her for the first time, I saw her as a great musician. As I started following her, I discovered a spiritual teacher in her,” he said.
