A few days back, Soumitrisha Kundu shared a photo of the Puja gift that she received from CM Mamata Banerjee. She is known to be a supporter of the ruling party and was spotted on the dais on July 21 last year. She also campaigned for the party during the election.

Soumitrisha became famous with the Zee Bangla serial Mithai. Then she was offered to play a role in Dev's movie Pradhan. Soumitrisha has her fans in India and Bangladesh. Her social media showed that she protested the heinous rape and murder of the lady doctor at the RG Kar Hospital. What is she thinking about the festival?

Soumitrisha said that she would spend the Puja with her family. However, she has to open some Pujas. She will go out for dinner also. She told Anandabazar, "There is no clash between protest and Puja. I shared the protesting post, but that does not mean I can boycott Puja. Many people's income is involved with Puja. Many people perhaps will buy medicines or textbooks for their children. There are people whose annual income depends on Puja. Not returning to festivals is different from depriving people of their livelihood who are involved with festivals." She said clearly, "I am not against festivals. But I want justice, too."

Soumitrisha will next be seen in the film on 10 June. The shooting has finished. The release date has not yet been announced. She will also be seen in her debut web series Kaalratri. Here, she played a character called Debi.

Soumitrisha Kundu started her career with negative roles. She played Jhilli in the serial E Amar Gurudakkhina that went from 2016 to 2018. Then she played the lead role, Koli Sen, in the serial Kone Bou. From there, she played Mithai and became a household name.
