Sookshmadarshini to Hello Mummy (Nov 18 to Nov 24): Malayalam releases on OTT, theatres to watch this weekend

Malayalam cinema is all set to have a busy week (November 18 to November 24, 2024), after a short break, with back-to-back theatrical releases and some OTT releases. As reported earlier, a few much-awaited films including Sookshmadarshini and Hello Mummy are gearing up for their theatrical releases, this weekend. When it comes to the OTT space, Thekku Vadakku is the most promising Malayalam release of this weekend.

Sookshmadarshini (November 22)

Basil Joseph and Nazriya Nazim Fahadh are joining hands for the first time in their careers for Sookshmadarshini, the upcoming mystery thriller film. The movie, directed by newcomer MC Jithin, is slated to hit theatres across the globe on Friday, November 22, 2024. Sookshmadarshini revolves around Priyadarshini (Nazriya Nazim) a curious young woman who constantly spies on her mysterious neighbour Manuel (Basil Joseph), only to uncover a dark secret.

Hello Mummy (November 21)

Sharaf U Dheen and Aishwarya Lekshmi are joining hands for Hello Mummy, the upcoming horror comedy film directed by Vaishakh Elans. The much-awaited project is slated to hit the theatres across the globe on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Hello Mummy revolves around Boney and Stephy, a young soon-to-be-married couple, and the ghost of the bride’s mother who disapproves of their relationship.

Thekku Vadakku – Manorama Max (November 19)

The comedy drama film, which features Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vinayakan in the lead roles, is gearing up for its OTT release on Manorama Max. As per the latest updates, the Hareesh S directorial is slated to start streaming on the platform from Tuesday, November 19, 2024, on the popular platform. Thekku Vadakku will only be available for streaming in Malayalam.

Parakramam (November 22)

The coming-of-age drama film directed by newcomer Arjun Ramesh is slated to be released on Friday, November 22, 2024. Dev Mohan appears as the central character, a young student who shares a close relationship with his parents, played by Reni Panicker and Sangitha, in the film. His life takes a different turn after he falls in love with his childhood friend Anupama, and locks horns with a powerful gang.

Njan Kandatha Saare

The comedy drama film directed by Varun G Panicker revolves around an investigation, its untrustworthy witnesses, and the hilarious events that follow. Njan Kandatha Saare, which features a massive star cast including Indrajith Sukumaran, Baiju Santhosh, Deepu Karunakaran, Anoop Menon and Mareena Michael Kurisingal, is slated to be released on Friday, November 22, 2024.
