On December 13, upcoming sequel of the 2013 film Soodhu Kavvum, titled Soodhu Kavvum 2: Naatum Naatu Makkalum, is all set to hit big screens. The film stars Shiva, Harisha, Radha Ravi, Karunakaran, M.S. Bhaskar, Karate Karthi, Raghu, Yog Japee, Aruldoss, Kalki, Kavi, and others. But before catching this film on silver screens, you can revisit the first part on ZEE5 and alternatively on OTTplay Premium app.

Soodhu Kavvum is black comedy film written and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy in his directorial debut. It starred actors Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Ashok Selvan, Ramesh Thilak, Karunakaran and Sanchita Shetty in an ensemble cast. The film revolves around a kidnapping gang who attempt to abduct a politician's son who is already planning to orchestrate his own kidnap to get money from his father. Soodhu Kavvum became one of the most talked about films at the time of its release. It was remade in several languages, including in Telugu as Gaddam Gang, and in Urdu as Chupan Chupai.

Soodhu Kavvum 2 will feature a different cast and crew. It is directed by SJ Arjun, and has been certified U/A. Thirukumaran Entertainment and Thangam Cinemas banners are backing the project. The technical crew consists of Karthik K Thillai as the cinematographer and Ignatious Aswin as editor.

The trailer was released recently, as we are shown how the politician's son (Karunakaran as G Arumai Pragasam) now plays a central character. Shiva heads a new kidnapping gang and we see a similarity with the first film. But what's the knot that connects them both? One has to watch until December 13 to know the answers.
