In recent days, headlines have been dominated by a new Netflix movie and the two young actors leading it—one of whom is making his acting debut. Yes, we’re talking about Nadaaniyan, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. The film, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Productions, has been at the center of controversy since its release. Now, actor Sonu Sood has cryptically stepped in to support the two newcomers amidst the constant trolling and criticism.
While Nadaaniyan marks the third film for Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor, it serves as the acting debut for Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan. The movie has received mostly negative reviews from critics and audiences alike, leading to widespread backlash on social media. The two debutants have faced the brunt of the criticism, and now, Sonu Sood has taken to social media to urge people to be kinder towards them, emphasizing that nobody starts out perfect and that learning is a gradual process. Sonu Sood wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Be kind to debutants in the film fraternity and elsewhere. Nobody was perfect when they started. We all learn with experience. Only a handful get a second chance. A good or bad performance in any field is the collective responsibility of every technician involved. We are all learners. Let’s support and encourage them. Spread love."

A screenshot circulating online allegedly shows Ibrahim Ali Khan threatening a Pakistani critic after receiving a harsh review of Nadaaniyan. In his critique, the reviewer made a remark about Ibrahim’s nose, which reportedly triggered the actor to respond aggressively.
The message, attributed to Ibrahim, reads: "Tamur almost like Taimur... you got my brother’s name. Guess what you don’t got? His face. You ugly piece of trash. Since you can’t keep your words to yourself, don’t bother—they’re irrelevant, just like you. Ugly goddamn piece of shit. I feel bad for you and your family. And if I see you on the streets one day, I’ll make sure I leave you uglier than you already are—you walking piece of scum."
In response, the critic, Tamur, replied: "Hahahahahaha that’s my man. See, this is the guy I want to see in the movie, not that fake, mushy, cringeworthy human. But hey, yes, that nose job comment was in bad taste. The rest I totally own up to. Massive fan of your dad. Don’t let him down."
With Nadaaniyan continuing to generate heated discussions online, Sonu Sood’s words serve as a reminder that newcomers deserve patience and encouragement. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
