Sonam Kapoor’s cryptic post after Rana Daggubati’s comments at Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha event: 'Small minds...'

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has found herself in the middle of a controversy after actor-producer Rana Daggubati recollected an unpleasant experience with a 'big Hindi cinema heroine' while promoting Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming movie King of Kotha. And Sonam has reacted to the incident by sharing a cryptic post. "Just a little something I'd like some people to know...especially when discussing things about people that are made up," she wrote while sharing a famous quote from Eleanor Roosevelt. 

The quote read, "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."

Sonam's Instagram story is perceived as her reaction to Rana Daggubati's comments at the recent media event. The Baahubali star recalled an incident to highlight Dulquer Salmaan's professionalism while ruing over a 'big Hindi heroine' who allegedly took her job for granted . He noted that while Dulquer behaved very professionally and showed a lot of tolerance for the unprofessionalism of the actress in question, he couldn't help but pull up the producers for allowing such things to happen on the sets. 

Even though Rana Daggubati didn't name names, people on the internet connected the dots and concluded that he was talking about Sonam Kapoor. Sonam and Dulquer shared screen pace in the 2019 sports drama, The Zoya Factor, which tanked at the box office. "When a gentle soul like Duqler is doing a wild action movie, nobody could be more excited than me," Rana added while talking at the pre-release event of King of Kotha in Hyderabad. 

Soon after Rana's comments, Sonam was subjected to a lot of trolling on social media. And the reaction to the incident forced Rana to issue a clarification while apologising to Sonam. 

"I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted. I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding," he tweeted.
