The actress has made a comeback into acting with her latest web series The Broken News

Sonali Bendre recently made a comeback into the world of acting with her latest web series The Broken News. The plot revolves around two rival television channels that function out a same building in Mumbai and represent two opposing ideologies of journalism. The Broken News is directed by Vinay Waikul and the show is an adaptation of the British series Press (2018 BBC One series created by playwright-screenwriter Mike Bartlett). Sonali Bendre plays Amina Qureshi, who heads one of the channels and her role in the series and her remarkable performance has come in for a lot of praise.
The actress recently took to her social media page and shared that she sees The Broken News as a new beginning and that she wants to make the best of it. She wrote, "I see this like a beginning because I think the universe has given me a second chance and I need to make good on it! I’m no longer an accidental actor. I’m choosing to do this. I don’t have an excuse anymore if I don’t get it right. And… I’m enjoying it so much, so I definitely want to continue to do more work now."
She added that she wants to embrace the process and do her work joyfully. "Whatever I do, I want to do joyfully, and that means the work environment is very important, the people around me matter a lot, I want to get along with them, have fun with them, I want to be able to enjoy what I am doing, what is the story I am telling, the character I am playing, I want to do good roles, and want to work with new artists, directors and DOPs… and embrace the work process!!"
She also thanked the entire thank of The Broken News for their support.
