Sonakshi Sinha’s Kakuda: What will happen when your biggest fear knocks on the door? Watch the spooky promo!

The much-awaited comedy horror - Kakuda is all set to finally start streaming on July 12, 2024. The film, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem, is directed by Munjya fame director Aditya Sarpotdar. Touted as a 'freakishly spooky comedy', the film will stream on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Ahead of the release, the streaming platform shared a promo of Kakuda that will send chills down your spine but with laughter.

The promo of the film shows all the lead characters of the show who are going through one or the other thing as they are being haunted by Kakuda. With multiple jokes, the video is followed by some unusual incidents happening in the Ratodi village which is haunted by Kakuda. Without any further ado, take a look at this spooky promo here:

Sharing the promo, the makers captioned it - "Your biggest fear comes knocking, sharp at 7:15 pm today. All men, keep your doors wide open! #Kakuda premiering today, only on #ZEE5"

Earlier, in an interview with Zoom, Riteish spoke about people comparing Kakuda with Stree or any other horror-comedy movie. He said that directors frequently draw inspiration from great films and this one is not an exception. He said, "There is a dialogue in the film ‘Bhooton se dar nhi lgta insaan se lagta hai.’ That's not a dig at Dabangg or at Sonakshi’s line, but it's an ode to that film."

Further, about working on a film like Kakuda, he said, "I think the script was very interesting. It is a horror-comedy, but it is not just about scares and laughs. It is a story that has a lot of heart, and it is about the relationships between the characters."

Kakuda is a horror-comedy based on a 'strange folklore.' Apart from Sonakshi Sinha, and Saqib Saleem, the film also features Panchayat fame Aasif Khan in a pivotal role. The horror-comedy is set to hit streaming on July 12, 2024 on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium.
