Somy Ali, the former actor and now a social activist, has never been afraid to talk about how violent her relationship with Bollywood star Salman Khan was. She has now brought up the subject once more and said that the eight years she shared with him were the worst of her life. Somy shared details of her connection with Salman on Instagram. She said that the superstar would constantly put her down by calling her "ugly, ignorant, and dumb."

In her post, Somy stated that one may occasionally submit anything before deleting it. Someone asked her to explain the situation's cause. She said that it's the result of her vulgarity and her outburst of rage. Having offensive posts on her social media did not sit well with her as the executive director of an NGO. As a result, she deleted them.

Somy added that everyone is curious as to what transpired between Salman Khan and Somy Ali. She claimed that the eight hardest years of her life were those she spent with him. Salman would continually denigrate her by calling her unattractive, stupid, and dumb, in addition to having a ton of affairs and flings. He would consistently make her feel insignificant. Years went by before Salman told everyone that Somy was his girlfriend, and when he did, he constantly yelled at her and called her names in front of his friends.

She said that she doesn't feel bad about saying that she chose to have affairs because of how he treated her. At their core, affairs are a search for someone who will love and care for her. Someone who would not belittle her and would instead treat her with respect.

Somy didn't realize that these men were just taking advantage of her and that with each affair, she was building a future for herself. Salman had the courage to tell her after beating her that he's a man and only men can cheat, not women, after he found out about these encounters. That sentence horrified Somy because of the sexism it smacked of. She added that one must not forget that just because Salman or anybody else treats them well, it does not mean that they will do the same for others. In terms of verbal, sexual, and physical assault, Somy experienced it the worst.

Somy's final film appearance was in Chupp in 1997. The relationship between Salman and Somy was widely reported throughout the 1990s.
