Soldier 2 to go on floors in 2025; Bobby Deol-Preity Zinta to reunite for the film? Details inside

Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta's movie Soldier was successful upon its theatrical release in 1998. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, the movie featured Bobby as Raj Malhotra and Vicky Sinha while Preity played the character of Preeti Singh. It became a big release of Preity in the early days of her career. 26 years down the line, producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed the sequel to the 1998 film Soldier. In an interview with News18, Taurani revealed that Soldier 2's shoot will begin in 2025.

Soldier 2's shoot to begin next year

Bobby Deol had recently hinted at the sequel to Soldier. And now, producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed Soldier 2. "We’re definitely making a sequel to Soldier. We will begin shooting for the film next year," he told the publication. Since the first installment featured Bobby and Preity, Taurani was asked if the actors would reunite for the movie.

"We aren’t sure about the cast yet. Depends on how the story shapes, we will take a call on whether Bobby and Preity will be a part of it," added Ramesh. For the uninitiated, Soldier became Preity's one of the big Bollywood movies even though she started shooting for Kya Kehnaa first.

Recalling the same, Ramesh (producer of both movies) revealed they decided to cast Zinta in Solider while Kya Kehnaa was being made.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Bobby Deol was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. The film was released in December 2023. He has an exciting lineup of movies ahead. The list of his new films includes Apne 2, Kanguva, an untitled project with Anurag Kashyap, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Alpha, and more.

On the other hand, Preity Zinta's last theatrical release was Bhaiaji Superhit. Six years after its release, it was recently confirmed that the actress will share screen space with Sunny Deol in Lahore 1947. The movie is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
