Sohini Sarkar teams up with Arifin Shuvoo in Chorki’s series, Lahu

Bengali viewers harbour unending love for mystery and thrills. A mystery film rarely bombed in the box office. Sohini Sarkar’s new mystery series Lahu is coming on the Bangladeshi web platform, Chorki. Arifin Shuvoo, whose portrayal of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Shyam Benegal’s recent film has been appreciated, will pair up with Sohini for the first time in that series. The series will be directed by Rahool Mukherjee who previously made Kishmish and Dilkhush.

Sohini is a dependable face for the makers of Bengali films and series. Arifin is also a popular name in Bangladesh. He is a romantic hero. Will there be a blend of romance and action in the series? Rahul said, “This is my work where there is no romance. I wanted to make something different after Kishmish and Dilkhush. I am a bit tired of making love stories. I want to reconstruct myself and see what else I can. Hence I am making the series. This is a story of two parents.”

Sohini is hopeful about this work. She said that the story was different and the work would be fantastic. Arifin said that he was thankful that he was getting so many different projects. But none of them said anything about the story.

The shooting will start on November 18. It will take place in Kolkata and Shillong.
