After the first phase of shooting in June, the second phase of the shooting of Angshuman MBA resumed in August. Soham Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee and other actors are currently shooting at different places in Kolkata. Directed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, the film delves into two middle-class households.
Talking about her character, Koushani said, “The name of my character is Labonyo. She is a Tagore-aficionado. She has no social media presence and her coy, private life revolves around her family. She is not frivolous and her grandfather is her mentor. She is poetic. She does not fall in love frequently. And then she realises that Angshu falls in love with her at her friend’s wedding. How their chemistry develops is what we see in the film.”
Abhijit Guha said that the film tells the story of two middle-class families. “There are contradictions in culture and that’s what the film captures. It is also a story of a father and son conflict and a love story between two very different people,” he said.
Meanwhile, Soham said, “We have been shooting a song sequence in which Angshu nurtures his love for the heroine. The hero and the heroine are very different. My character Angshu hates his father’s hosiery business. He pursues an MBA to start his own business. Meanwhile, he falls in love with Labonyo.”
Besides the shooting of this film, Soham is also busy with his forthcoming film, Paka Dekha, with Susmita Chatterjee. Billed as family entertainment, the film is directed by Premendu Bikash Chaki. The film also features a squad of veteran actors, including Sumanta Mukhopadhyay, Laboni Sarkar, Kharaj Mukhopadhyay, Dolon Roy and Dipankar Dey. Paka Dekha will release on September 2.
