Sampoornesh Babu, who is yet to taste success after his spoof comedies Kobbari Matta and Hrudaya Kaleyam, is returning to action with multiple projects. His rural drama, Martin Luther King, the Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Mandela, is gearing up for a release on October 27 in Telugu states. His next release after Martin Luther King will be Sodara, a sibling drama.
Sodara has Sampoornesh Babu teaming up with actor Sanjosh. The film is an ode to the bond between two siblings. The makers have called it a ‘bromantic’ story and launched the motion poster of the film. The glimpse pays homage to the camaraderie that all siblings in the industry share - from Chiranjeevi to Jr NTR, Ravi Teja to Ram Charan, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram-Laxman, to name a few.
Interestingly, both the protagonists in Sodara are named after Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. While Sampoornesh Babu’s character is named Chiru, his brother, played by Sanjosh, is Pawan. The motion poster has a catchy track in the background, signifying their bond. Sunil Kasyap composes the music for the film. The first look of Sodara will be launched on October 29.
The film is written and directed by Man Mohan Menampally and produced by Chandra Chaganla under Cans Entertainments and Monk Films. Jaan cranks the camera for the film for which Shiva Sarvani is the editor. Suddala Ashok Tej and Purna Chary are the lyricists for the album. Going by the glimpse, Sodara, a tale packed with humour and hefty drama, is expected to unfold in a village backdrop.
Prachi Bansal, Aarti Gupta, Baba Bhaskar, Babu Mohan and Getup Srinu play other important roles in the film. The producer shared that Sodara focuses on the depth in the bond between two brothers and promises to be as memorable as films like Annayya, Tammudu, Seetharamaraju, to name a few. The film is likely to release by the end of 2023.
