Sniri: Tuhina Das dons prosthetic makeup to play an elderly woman on screen

After a hiatus, Ghawrey Bairey Aaj-actress Tuhina Das is all with her upcoming film, Sniri. Directed by Avijit Nayek, the film also features Riju, Indrajit Majumder, Manasi Sinha, Biswajit Chakraborty, Rwita Dutta Chakraborty, Sumit Ganguly, Ashim, Elfina Mukherjee, Sambhu Mitra, and others. 

Billed as a romantic drama, the film delves into the life of Sumita, played by Tuhina, who goes through a series of setbacks in life. In the films, the actress plays three ages of the character. With the help of prosthetic makeup, she plays the character of an elderly person. “It was a challenging bit as I did not do anything similar to this,” she said. 

Director Avijit said, “I felt very challenged while doing this movie as I had to manage both production and directorial teams. Working with my full cast was a great experience. This story is about a woman and her ups and downs in life. She sees success in life and moves forward, and then sees downfall in life. The title of the film, Sniri, means stairway. Our film captures the ups and downs in the walk of life and hence the title. Doing the prosthetic makeup was a new challenge and we had to try something new. This will be the first time Tuhina will be seen playing an elderly woman on screen.”
