The trailer for Sky Force is finally out after kicking in some excitement with the release of the poster on Saturday, January 4. The nearly three-minute-long trailer for the film featuring Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya in the lead roles is set against the backdrop of the 1960s, when India's retaliatory attack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965, described as India's first and deadliest airstrike.
The makers have included all the crucial elements of the plot in the lengthy trailer, such as the bravery of the two officers, India's plan to retaliate against Pakistan through an airstrike, and the disappearance of Pahariya's character from the storyline. In the tow, we also get a few glimpses of the two female leads of the film, including Nimrat Kaur opposite Kumar and Sara Ali Khan as a young mother who is still hoping that her missing husband, played by Pahariya, will soon come back and she is not widowed yet.
The film features all the dialogues we have seen over the past couple of years, with India vs. Pakistan being the story's central theme. This time, we are going back to one of the historical chapters of the country.
Sky Force marks Veer Pahariya's debut in the film industry, and his on-screen dynamic with Akshay Kumar is anticipated to be a highlight of the movie.
Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, Sky Force is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, along with Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios. The film's visual effects, crafted by the Oscar-winning company DNEG, promise to deliver breathtaking aerial sequences that authentically recreate the historic airstrike.
Audiences have already praised the trailer's high-octane action, emotional depth, and patriotic fervor. The makers have strategically timed the film's theatrical release to coincide with India's Republic Day celebrations, thereby enhancing its nationalistic appeal.
