Akshay Kumar's Sky Force has been compared to Hrithik Roshan's Fighter ever since the movie was out in theatres. Now, the film's early Box Office collection is out, and Sky Force has managed to beat one of 2024's highest-grossing films already. Yes, Sky Force has beat Fighter's Box Office collections. Here's how...
Sky Force's early Box Office has beat the second-day footfalls for Fighter, according to Sacnilk. For day 2 of its release, Fighter had 23.40% footfalls. Sky Force, on the other hand, crossed 23.53% footfalls in the morning show itself.
A rise in footfalls also suggests that the Box Office for Sky Force has grown on its first Saturday i.e. day 2. Thus, the film which is Akshay's fifth highest-grossing film in the post-COVID era, might soon be his third-highest, if not more.
Sky Force is also making headlines for debutant Veer Pahariya's performance in the film. The movie, which revisits India's first airstrike on the Sargodha airbase in Pakistan during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war, is an action-drama at the core. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force also features Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in the lead roles. The movie has been out in theatres since January 24, with no certain update about its OTT release.
Sky Force has been compared to Fighter for obvious reasons - both the films are patriotic movies set above land and involve fighter jets. Both have seen Indian wars and there's a sense of patriotism attached to them. Moreover, like Sky Force, Fighter too had released at the beginning of the year 2024, more so on consecutive dates (January 24 for Sky Force and January 25 for Fighter). These parallels were too similar to be overlooked, even if both the movies had different tales to tell.
