Sky Force Box Office Day 5 Prediction: The domestic box office this week is all about the aerial drama Sky Force, led by Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, which was released just before the country celebrated Republic Day. Sky Force, which opened on January 24, 2025, has had a successful weekend, brightening prospects for a film that carried high expectations. After scoring a strong opening weekend, the focus shifted to Monday, where the movie witnessed its first drop in collections. It seems the film may experience another drop on Day 5, Tuesday. Read on to know more.
At this point, Sky Force has turned out to be a significant success for its stars, opening with over ₹70 crore at the Indian box office during its debut weekend. On its first day, the film earned ₹12.25 crore—slightly below the average for a film of this scale. However, Saturday saw an incredible 80% rise, bringing in ₹22 crore, more than making up for the initial lag. According to Sacnilk, the film added ₹27.50 crore on Sunday and ₹6.25 crore on Monday, bringing the total to ₹68.50 crore.
While Monday's drop was steeper than expected, it is projected that Tuesday will also see a slight decline. Reports suggest the movie may earn ₹5–6 crore on Day 5 (first Tuesday), inching closer to the ₹75 crore mark. It remains to be seen whether the film will defy these predictions and show an upward trend, or if it will maintain similar numbers to Monday.
Post-pandemic, Akshay Kumar has been prolific, releasing over ten films, including Sarfira, Sooryavanshi, Khel Khel Mein, Singham Again, Bachchhan Pandey, and Bell Bottom. However, barring a few exceptions, most of these films failed to make a significant impact at the box office. With Sky Force, Akshay seems to have found some redemption.
The film, with its ₹70 crore-plus opening weekend, has become his third-biggest post-pandemic opener. The only two films to surpass Sky Force's Day 1 collection of ₹15.3 crore were Sooryavanshi (₹26.29 crore) and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (₹16.07 crore). However, while Bade Miyan Chote Miyan quickly lost momentum, Sky Force remains strong at the box office.
Pre-sales for Sky Force (150K tickets) surpassed those of Akshay’s last five movies, including OMG 2 (90K), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (65K), Khel Khel Mein (29K), Mission Raniganj (11K), and Sarfira (10K).
Sky Force released on January 24, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
