The aerial actioner Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya, soared into orbit after a tepid beginning. Surprisingly, the film's first weekend saw very good growth, which continued on Sunday. Sky Force has a decent shot at a long and fruitful run if it can pass the test on Monday.
On its first day, Sky Force made ₹12.25 crore, which is slightly less than the average for a film of this size. However, Saturday's incredible 80% rise, minting ₹22 crore, more than compensated for that delay. The film ended the opening weekend with a solid domestic nett total of ₹61.75 crore, as reported by Sacnilk, with an additional ₹27.50 crore garnered on Sunday.
The makers of the film asserted that Sky Force made more than ₹40 crore in its initial two days, suggesting that the actual opening weekend total would be closer to ₹70 crore.
Sky Force has also done decently in foreign markets, adding over ₹5 crore to its total earnings after only two days of release, with a total of $600,000. It should be mentioned that the film is anticipated to perform exceptionally well in India, similar to the majority of Akshay Kumar's flicks.
Critics and audiences alike have spoken highly of the film, which has contributed to its success. Hopefully, Sky Force will manage to endure the first week without experiencing a significant drop. This crucial test on Monday will determine its lifetime haul.
The 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war incident involving the assault on the Sargodha airbase by Pakistan is the loose basis for the film Sky Force, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. In addition to Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, it features important roles from Sharad Kelkar and Sara Ali Khan and even has a cameo by Nimrat Kaur.
