Sky Force box office collection day 1: Akshay Kumar and box office have been two of the most associated words. Over the past many decades, the actor has been giving back-to-back hits, and his fans have been sampling that love through the footfalls in the cinema halls. But the actor, like a few others, has seen a rough patch in his box office track record for a bit before the pandemic and a lot after, where his movies have not just worked weakly but done abysmally bad numbers leading to massive losses for the producers, even in some cases. He now comes to the big screen back with Sky Force, which also stars Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur in the leading roles. It is being said that the pre-sales of the movie have already surpassed that of Kumar's five last films.
Yes, you read that right. The statistics right now hint at a good projection for Akshay Kumar finally in regard to the box office performance. As per a Koimoi report, the pre-sales on Book My Show now stand at 150K tickets, which are already booked and are still counting. As per Sacnilk, Sky Force even made a collection of ₹3.78 crores from the advance booking for day 1. All of these are signs of a good opening for the movie.
With this, Sky Force has surpassed the pre-sales of the last five Akshay Kumar movies, including OMG 2 (90K), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (65K), Khel Khel Mein (29K), Mission Raniganj (11K), and Sarfira (10K). We will have to wait a few more hours to see whether the aerial drama manages to surpass them all in opening-day collections or not. The predictions have said that the movie might open to a number of around ₹10 crore and earn approximately ₹30 crore in the first weekend too.
Add to it, the movie is released right next to the Republic Day holiday, which will help it flourish well if the word of mouth is good for it. If this happens, Sky Force will completely overshadow Emergency and Azaad. Considering Emergency has opened to a ₹8.74 crore weekend, and Azaad hasn't even touched any substantial mark, it is given that if Sky Force works, these two will almost fade from the big screen.
Starring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur in the lead, Sky Force is an action drama about the air force and is directed by Sandeep Kewlani. The trailer of the movie that was released recently was welcomed with a positive response, and the makers have been making sure to keep the buzz around the film going. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Jyoti Deshpande. Turns out the movie has now gotten a UA 13+ rating from the CBFC, and the runtime is surprisingly short compared to the rest of Akshay's releases.
As per Pinkvilla, Sky Force has passed through the Central Board of Film Certification check and has received a UA 13+ rating, which will be beneficial for the movie. Meanwhile, the movie has been passed with a runtime of 125 minutes, which makes the film 2 hours 5 minutes long. This could be the shortest Akshay Kumar movie in years. There is no confirmation on this from the makers yet.
Sky Force released on January 24, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
