Skanda, the first pan-Indian film in the career of Ram Pothineni, is barely two weeks away from release on September 15. The film marks the first collaboration between the actor and filmmaker Boyapati Sreenu. The action entertainer is bankrolled by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen in collaboration with ZEE Studios. Sreeleela plays the female lead.

After the pre-release event last weekend held in the presence of Balakrishna, the makers launched the third single Dummare Dumma today. S Thaman composes the music for the album. Popular singer Armaan Malik and Telugu Indian Idol 2 contestant Ayyan Pranathi have crooned for the song. RRR-fame Prem Rakshith choreographs it while Kalyana Chakravarthy Tripuraneni is the lyricist.

The song has a melodic base and is enhanced by the musical hook, the orchestration and the energetic rendition. The lyrics offer an authentic life by the countryside and convey what makes it special. There’s also a marriage in Ram Pothineni’s household and he does everything to keep the guests entertained, shows them his village, shakes a leg with them.

Dummare Dumma appears like a situational number in Skanda and is expected to work better with audiences on the big screen. Santosh Dekate’s vibrant cinematography, the energetic choreography and Ram’s magnetic screen-presence are the USPs of the number. The surprise package here is the presence of Saiee Manjrekar. It’s not known if she’s the second lead or limited to this song alone.

Stun Siva is the action director the same and Tammiraju is the editor. Junglee Music has acquired the music rights of the film. The action entertainer will have its Telugu television premiere on Star Maa (after its theatrical release). Pavan Kumar is the presenter. Boyapati’s frequent collaborator writer M Rathnam, art director AS Prakash are also part of the project.
