SK 23 update – Sivakarthikeyan-AR Murugadoss’ film to go on floors from THIS date

Sivakarthikeyan and director A R Murugadoss’ mass entertainer SK 23 (tentative title) is all set to begin rolling from tomorrow (February 14). The upcoming film is going to be the maiden collaboration between the actor-director duo after Sivakarthikeyan’s 2014 film Maan Karate, the story of which was written by the director. As per the latest reports, the film is set to go on floors from tomorrow on Valentine's Day.

Touted to be a complete entertaining actioner, the film will see Sivakarthikeyan in a different avatar, with the actor set to undergo a huge transformation for the film. This is the first time A R Murugadoss will be directing a Sivakarthikeyan-starrer. Mrunal Thakur is said to play the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan in SK 23, with the film's music scored by Anirudh Ravichander.  

According to some sources, Mohanlal and Vidyut Jammwal are also reported to be part of the film. Although the film’s cast and crew have been revealed, an official confirmation from the team is awaited.

In an earlier promotional interview for his Pongal outing Ayalaan, Sivakarthikeyan was asked about his exciting collaboration with the Tamil director. He revealed that he is very much looking forward to collaborating with the popular filmmaker. “SK 23 is an exciting film for me. Not just for me, but for any actor, it is a dream to work with big directors. I have always dreamt of working with directors like S Shankar and A R Murugadoss. And whenever I have met Murugadoss sir at events, I tell him that I wish to work with him someday and that he can call me anytime for a good project,” the actor revealed.

The Ayalaan star also promised that SK 23 is going to be a 'mass entertainer'.

“One time, sir himself called me and hinted that he has a script in the works, but he promised to narrate the script after its completion. Later during one casual meet up, he narrated the entire story and that itself was a special moment for me. SK 23 is definitely a film I am very much excited about. The film will be a proper mass-entertainer and the most important thing is that there is a lot of scope for performance in the film, which I am very much looking forward to,” he explained.
