Netflix has secured the streaming rights for the highly-anticipated Tamil film, which has been temporarily titled SK 21. Starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, the movie will find a home on this platform after its theatrical run.

The streaming platform recently unveiled its India lineup for 2024. Coinciding with the Pongal celebrations all announcements were related to its partnership with the upcoming Tamil movies. Netflix has put together a very formidable slate of Tamil movies aimed at expanding its footprint among regional audiences in the country.

The other highly anticipated movies that will soon join Netflix's sprawling library, include Vikram's Thangalaan , RJ Balaji's Sorga Vaasal, Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja , Ajith Kumar's Vidaa Muyarchi and Kamal Haasan's Indian 2.

It won't be wrong to assume that the SK 21 will become available for streaming on Netflix less than five weeks following its initial theatrical debut.

SK 21 boasts a big canvas

SK 21 is the most anticipated movie in Sivakarthikeyan's career. This film promises to show Sivakarthikeyan in a never-before-seen action avatar. Sivakarthikeyan had caught the imagination with his new makeover for the movie, in which he is said to be playing the role of an army officer.

Sivakarthikeyan reportedly underwent a physical transformation to look the part of a decorated Indian soldier. The movie is said to draw inspiration from the real-life challenges confronted by Indian soldiers stationed at the nation's borders.

Sources suggest that SK 21 is adapted from the non-fiction book "India’s Most Fearless: True Stories Of Modern Military Heroes." This book captures the intense and high-stakes situations faced by Indian soldiers during their service. Featuring 14 real-life accounts, the narrative includes incidents such as the 2016 surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC).
