Actor SJ Suryah, who has been getting rave reviews for his performances as actor, will be next seen in the upcoming Telugu film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram opposite Nani. Ahead of the film's release on August 29, the cast, including actors Nani and Priyanka Arul Mohan along with SJ Suryah, have been touring the cities for promotions. In one such instance, SJ Suryah, who also helmed the iconic romantic drama Kushi, opened up about the possibilities of the sequel.
During the promotions of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Priyanka Arul Mohan asked SJ Suryah about when he will do Kushi 2, and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan who played the first part, will be in the sequel. To this, Suryah replied, "There is a story of Kushi 2 with Pawan Kalyan. He enjoyed it so much and wanted to do it. But I did not name it Kushi 2 and narrated the story to him. It is a very good. He still enjoys it. But later, he said he is past doing love stories even though I convinced him he can do it. Yet, Pawan Kalyan felt it is not right time for him." When asked who are the other actors, he can do Kushi 2 with, Suryah replied that Nani, Ram Charan and Vijay will suit the bill.
For the uninitiated, Kushi is a 2001 romantic drama film starring Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles. The film revolves around two youngsters who are in love yet prevented to unite due to their respective egos. The film was subsequently remade in Tamil with the same title with Vijay and Jyothika. Both the versions were commercial blockbusters.
