It was heard recently that producer Boney Kapoor, who is on a spree signing remakes one after the other, has initiated plans to remake Vaali. The film directed by SJ Suryah, which released in 1999, was one of the biggest hits in Ajith's career. Apparently, Suryah is upset with it as he has plans to remake it in Bollywood with him playing the lead, too.
Though the actor-filmmaker, who is on a high with the success of Maanaadu, had sought legal action to stop the Hindi remake's proceedings, the court is said to have permitted Boney to go ahead with his plans.
Suryah, we hear, is now planning to file an appeal against the verdict as he is the storywriter for Vaali (streaming on Amazon Prime Video and YouTube). Kollywood is eagerly awaiting to know who will have the last laugh. As the actor-filmmaker has a few films in his kitty, including Sivakarthikeyan's Don, the veteran producer has Nenjukku Needhi (remake of Article 15), which has Udhayanidhi playing the lead.
Boney's most expected project, Valimai, starring Ajith in the lead, is finally hitting the screens on January 13, 2022. The action thriller will be the year's much-awaited flick as it has been in the making for quite sometime.
The B'town producer will also be making another film with Ajith, to be directed by H Vinoth. It will be the trio's third project together after Nerkonda Paarvai (streaming on Zee5) and Valimai. It was heard a while ago that he will be remaking Jayam Ravi's Comaali (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) and Nayanthara's Kolamaavu Kokila (streaming on Zee5) as well in Hindi.
Mollywood project, Helen (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), starring Anna Ben in the lead, is another film which he is planning to remake in Hindi.
