Niranjan Iyengar to adapt a Ruskin Bond short story

Renowned screenwriter and lyricist Niranjan Iyengar, who is known for having written films such as My Name Is Khan and Kal Ho Naa Ho, is set to make his directorial debut. He will adapt a short story by iconic British Indian author Ruskin Bond. The film is produced by Mansi and Varun Bagla of Mini Films, with 12th Fail star Vikrant Massey cast in the lead role. The film is touted as a unique yet challenging love story based on one of Bond's classics. Several Bollywood celebrities including Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol, and Kiara Advani, have conveyed their support for the project, as Iyengar prepares for his feature film directorial debut.   

Netflix announces release date of Sylvester Stallone documentary

The highly-anticipated Netflix documentary on the legendary Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone has finally confirmed its release date. It was earlier announced that the documentary will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 17 this year, and will be the closing film of the event. It has now been revealed that the documentary titled Sly will be released on Netflix on November 3rd. The docu will focus on Stallone’s rags-to-riches story – from his memorable debut in Rocky to his global stardom.

Roger Ross Williams documentary announced by Netflix

A documentary based on the New York Times bestseller Stamped From the Beginning by Dr. Ibram X Kendi has been announced by Netflix. It is to be helmed by Roger Ross Williams, who is best known for directing the Academy Award-winning documentary short Music by Prudence. The upcoming documentary Stamped From the Beginning will focus on the systematic anti-black racism that scars American history. It will use animated sequences to explore historical moments and will also lean on various pop culture references. Stamped From the Beginning will premiere on Netflix on November 15, 2023.

'Spy Kids: Armageddon' sets release date

The reboot of the popular Spy Kids franchise has finally announced its release date. Titled Spy Kids: Armageddon, the film stars Shazam! star Zachary Levi and Jane the Virgin’s Gina Rodriguez, and it will be helmed by Sin City and Desperado director Robert Rodriguez, who also directed the original Spy Kids trilogy. The film is written by the director’s son Racer Max, and will focus on a new set of ‘spy kids’ who become spies after their parents’ mission is ambushed. Spy Kids: Armageddon will premiere on Netflix on September 22, 2023.

'Family Switch' starring Jennifer Garmer and Ed Helms announces release date

There is more news surrounding the streaming giant Netflix. The platform has announced the release date of the upcoming body swap comedy, Family Switch. The film stars Jennifer Garner, and Ed Helms, along with Wednesday star Emma Myers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem actor Brady Noon. The plot revolves around the members of the Walker family, whose bodies are inexplicably swapped one day, and to their misfortune, on the most important day of their respective lives. Family Switch will premiere on Netflix on November 30, 2023.

'The Great' cancelled and 'Our Flag Means Death' season 2 announces release date

The historical dramedy The Great has been cancelled by Hulu. The show ran for three seasons with Elle Fanning in the lead as the Russian empress Catherine the Great. The plot revolves around Catherine’s tumultuous marriage with the Russian emperor Peter played by Nicholas Hoult. The third season premiered earlier this year and it appears it was the last adventure of Catherine and Peter. The Great is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in India.

There is good news for fans of the period romantic comedy series Our Flag Means Death. The Max original series has finally announced the release date of its second season. The series chronicles the misadventures of a gentleman-turned-pirate and his crew on the pirate ship Revenge. The first three episodes of Our Flag Means Death season 2 will premiere on October 5, and the series is available to stream on JioCinema
