Aamir Khan Productions and Jio Studios to produce Kiran Rao’s directorial ‘Laapataa Ladies’

Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s production company, Aamir Khan Productions, will join hands with Jio Studios to bankroll Kiran Rao’s next project. Titled Laapata Ladies, the film will be Rao’s second directorial after the 2011 film Dhobi Ghat. Laapata Ladies is set in 2001 in rural India and follows the hilarious tale of two brides who get lost after a train journey. Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan essay prominent roles in the film.

Ajay Devgn cast in new supernatural thriller

Actor Ajay Devgn has been cast in a new supernatural thriller alongside R. Madhavan, Jyotika, and Gujarati actress Janki Bodiwala, who is making her Bollywood debut. The film will be helmed by Vikas Bahl, who is best known for helming acclaimed films such as Queen and Super 30. Devgn will reunite with Drishyam 2’s  National Award-winning music composer DSP for the upcoming untitled project.

Patrick Dempsey and Addison Rae star in  Eli Roth’s  new slasher ‘Thanksgiving’

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has been cast in the lead as a Sheriff in Eli Roth’s new slasher titled Thanksgiving. Roth, who is renowned for his slasher horror films such as Hostel and Cabin Fever, will introduce a serial killer who wishes to make a twisted carving board out of his victims. The film will also star social media personality Addison Rae in a prominent role. Thanksgiving is set to release on November 17.

Lewis Pullman to star alongside Brie Larson in the Apple TV+ drama series Lessons in Chemistry

Top Gun: Maverick star Lewis Pullman has been cast in a new drama series for Apple TV+ titled, Lessons in Chemistry. Academy Award-winner Brie Larson, who is best known for her role as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will play the lead role in the series. Larson slips into the character of Elizabeth Zott, who faces several obstacles in her quest to teach science and chemistry to other women. The series is based on Bonnie Garmus' novel, which was released last year. Lessons in Chemistry is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on October 13.

'The Royal Hotel' starring Jessica Henwick and Julia Garner releases first trailer

Emmy Award-winning actress of Ozark, Julia Garner, has been cast alongside Game of Thrones and The Gray Man actress Jessica Henwick in the Outback horror The Royal Hotel. The plot revolves around their characters, Liv and Hanna, who face severe hostility when they take up jobs as barmaids in a pub in the Australian Outback. The film is loosely based on Pete Gleeson's documentary Hotel Coolgardie, which focuses on two Finnish women who experienced hostility and aggression from the locals. The film is helmed by Kitty Green, and it premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on September 1. The Royal Hotel is expected to hit theatres on October 6.

Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx  to star in legal drama 'The Burial'

Academy Award-winners Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx play the lead roles in the upcoming legal drama The Burial. The film is based on a true story from the 1990s about two lawyers teaming up to save a family business that has endured corruption and institutionalised racism.  Maggie Betts helms the project, and it also stars Jurnee Smollett, Mamoudou Athie, and Bill Camp in prominent roles. The Burial will receive a limited theatrical release on October 6th, before releasing on Prime Video on October 13th.
