Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Ghoomer’ launches trailer today

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan is set to star in the upcoming drama film Ghoomer. Directed by R Balki, the film also stars Saiyami Kher in the lead alongside Bachchan. The plot pivots around a paraplegic sports star who thrives as a cricket player under the supervision and guidance of her mentor. Angad Bedi and Shabana Azmi essay supporting roles in the film and the trailer is set for an August 3rd launch. Ghoomer will hit theatres on August 18.

Netflix releases trailer for Raj & D.K’s ‘Guns & Gulaabs’

The highly-anticipated Raj & D.K. Netflix thriller series Guns & Gulaabs has finally released its first trailer. The plot of the series is set in the ‘90s and revolves around a mechanic, a gangster, and a policeman, and it involves action sequences, romance, and offbeat humour inspired by classic Bollywood films. Rajkummar Rao essays the lead role of the mechanic, The White Tiger star Adarsh Gourav plays the role of the gangster, and Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan as the righteous police officer. Guns & Gulaabs will premiere on Netflix on August 18.

George A. Romero's 'Twilight of the Dead' script completed posthumously

The unfinished script for Twilight of the Dead from the late legendary horror filmmaker George Romero has been completed. LA-based financier-producer Roundtable will soon begin production for the feature film according to reports. The film will serve as a conclusion to the story of the iconic zombie franchise Living Dead. The production company has reportedly begun searching for a director and potential cast members, but further details have been kept under wraps.

'Dream Scenario' starring Nicolas Cage release first look

Actor Nicolas Cage has been enjoying a mini-renaissance recently after starring in the acclaimed action comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, alongside The Last of Us  star Pedro Pascal. He was also featured in the recent trailer of another upcoming action comedy titled The Retirement Plan, which is scheduled for an August 25 release. He is now set to star in the comedy film Dream Scenario, helmed by Kristoffer Borgli. The film focuses on the impact of social media on society, through satire and black comedy. Dylan Baker, Kate Berlant, Michael Cera, Dylan Gelula, and Tim Meadows essay other prominent roles in the A24 film. Dream Scenario will open the Toronto Film Fest Platform Competition this year.

‘Sucker Punch’ director’s cut to be released by Zack Snyder

Filmmaker Zack Snyder continues to be a polarising figure among audiences. His films are loved and hated in equal measure, but his peers have praised him for being ahead of his time. The director’s last major release was Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021, which is essentially a Director’s Cut that is significantly different and superior to Joss Whedon’s re-edited version of 2017’s universally panned theatrical version of the film. Just as in the case of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, some of Snyder’s other films have been well-received after the release of the Director’s Cut, such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition and Watchmen Ultimate Cut. It appears one of his most controversial films might receive the same treatment, and it is the 2011 film Sucker Punch. The director recently revealed that the studio-mandated cuts took away the essence of the story, and the film has been misunderstood as a result of it. He revealed that a Director’s Cut of Sucer Punch is certainly happening.

‘Wonder Woman 3’ in development confirms Gal Gadot

There is more news related to Zack Snyder. It was revealed earlier this year that James Gunn and Peter Safran are rebooting whatever is left of Snyder’s DC Cinematic Universe. It was also revealed that Ben Affleck, who was cast by Snyder, will be replaced as Batman. The biggest shocker was when Gunn announced that Henry Cavill was being recast as Superman. And it was later announced that David Corenswet will be the new Superman in Gunn’s new DCU and the upcoming 2025 film Superman: Legacy. However, one major role that appears to have survived the reshuffling at DC Film Studios is Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Even though it was earlier reported that Patty Jenkins-helmed Wonder Woman 3 was shelved, Gadot confirmed in a recent interview that Wonder Woman 3 is still happening. But it appears the project will be moving forward without Patty Jenkins.
