Sivakarthikeyan and Mandela fame director Madonne Ashwin have been planning to come together for a project for a long time. The other day, it was announced that an update on their movie will be revealed today. Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu came up with an announcement video from his Twitter page a few minutes ago.
The film which has been tentatively titled SK 22 is now officially titled Maaveeran. The Telugu title of the bilingual movie is Mahaveerudu. The two-and-a-half announcement video offers a sneak peek into the film's genre. Sivakarthikeyan's appearance which reminds of Rajinikanth from Thalapathi and an action scene hints at the movie being a superhero flick.
The makers, however, are yet to open up about the movie's genre. The video begins with a few goons beating Siva black and blue. A few moments later, he gets up with the help of an unknown person who controls his movements using a rope from a faraway building.
Siva, who is seen sporting a shabby hairstyle, is likely to appear in a rugged look in the movie for the first time in his career. Vidhu Ayyanna is in charge of cinematography for the project while Philomin Raj and Bharath Sankar handle editing and music direction respectively.
Maveeran was the title considered for Sivakarthikeyan's forthcoming project with Rajkumar Periyasamy. As the Madonne Ashwin directorial has acquired the title now, fans of the star are now looking forward to the former's title which has been tentatively titled SK 21.
Sai Pallavi plays the female lead in it while Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International is bankrolling it. The cast details of Maveeran (SK 22) is yet to be announced. Siva's next release is Anudeep's Prince which is slated to arrive in theatres for Deepavali.
