Amaran, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, has locked its release date. The film is all set to hit big screens on October 31, during Diwali, the makers announced on social media on Wednesday. The film is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.
Sivakarthikeyan’s transformation in Amaran, the upcoming action film, has already garnered much attention among his fans. The film is one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil titles to hit theatres. On Wednesday, the makers announced that Amaran will release in theatres on October 31.

Amaran is directed by filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy, who previously helmed Rangoon. It is backed by the multi-faceted actor and politician Kamal Haasan under his production banner Raaj Kamal Films International.
Amaran stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role and is a biopic of Mukund Varadarajan, who was a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his operation with the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion. The makers had released the first look poster for the film a while ago, making heads turn for the physical transformation that Sivakarthikeyan underwent.
The shooting for Amaran has been wrapped up. The film stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead, along with actors Rahul Bose and Lallu in significant roles. Their roles have been kept under wraps. Rumours suggest that there is a key cameo by Kamal Haasan. But an official confirmation is awaited.

With Amaran being the first biopic drama in Sivakarthikeyan’s career, there are huge expectations that the makers have to meet. The technical crew consists of cinematography by Ch Sai, with R Kalaivanan as the editor. The post-theatrical streaming rights for Amaran have been bagged by Netflix. GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for Amaran.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is currently working with filmmaker AR Murugadoss on a film. It has Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth playing the female lead, along with Vidyut Jammwal and Vikranth in prominent roles.
