Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan seems to be in a great rapport with his Telugu counterpart Nani. He noted that they both exhibit similar traits, such as distinctive noses and certain acting mannerisms on screen, inspired by Superstar Rajinikanth. He suggested he could imagine him essaying one of the roles played by Nani, while appreciating the success of the latter's latest movie, Hi Nanna.
He revealed that he was pretty impressed with the trailer of Hi Nanna and he knew instantly that this film would be a "hit." "It's a very strong film emotionally. I haven't done a film like that till now. Even though Rajkumar Periasamy's film is emotionally strong, it is also equally strong with raw action scenes. But, I haven't done films solely based on emotions. I think after watching Hi Nanna, the directors in Tamil will start writing similar films," Sivakarthikeyan told Cinema Vikatan.
Sivakarthikeyan noted that his busy schedule and the ongoing promotions of his upcoming movie Ayalaan didn't allow him the opportunity to watch Hi Nanna. But, he promised that he would watch the film soon.
Directed by debutant Shouryuv, Hi Nanna centres around the bond between a single father and his daughter. Despite initial assumptions that it bears similarities to the Tamil hit "Dada," the two films, while sharing some thematic and plot elements, are distinct from each other.
Hi Nanna opened in cinemas last December to positive reviews and became of a huge hit at the box office. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.
