Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan seems to be on an extended visit to Kerala. After meeting with the team of Naslen-led Alappuzha Gymkhana, the Amaran star interacted with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently. Sivakarthikeyan also attended an Art and Cultural Festival in Kannur, where he was all praise for the Kerala CM and quoted a line from a Rajinikanth film song, which had the crowd in raptures.
Sivakarthikeyan recently attended the Pinarayi Peruma Art and Cultural Festival at Pinarayi, which is the native place of Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. During the event, he spoke about interacting with the Chief Minister, who treated him to lunch at his home.
The Ayalaan actor conceded that he had assumed that the Kerala CM’s name was Pinarayi and it was only now that he had realised that it is in fact the name of the place. He said that Pinarayi has emerged to be an iconic figure in his native place.
“There is a line from a famous Rajinikanth song from Murattu Kaalai, which says, ‘Porandha Oorukku Pugazha Cheru, Valarntha Naatukku Peruma Thedu’. The line is very relatable to Pinarayi Vijayan sir,” Sivakarthikeyan said, as per The Hindu report.
The crowd applauded as Sivakarthikeyan referred to the Rajinikanth movie. For the unversed, Murattu Kaalai is a 1980 Tamil film, which starred Rajinikanth in the lead role along with Rati Agnihotri, Sumalatha and Jaishankar.
The video of Sivakarthikeyan from the event is also being widely shared on social media, with
CM Pinarayi and Rekhachithram actor Asif Ali were also present for the event held in Kannur.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in the hit film Amaran, which is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan. Mukund’s wife is Indhu Rebecca Varghese, played by Sai Pallavi.
His upcoming film is Madharasi, which is directed by AR Murugadoss and is set to release on September 5, 2025. He also has Parasakthi in the pipeline, that is directed by Sudha Kongara.
He has previously starred in films such as Namma Veettu Pillai, which you can stream on OTTplay Premium.
