Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan is the latest to heap praises on director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He expressed his admiration for the director's storytelling talents and his directness which usually remains on full display during his interactions with the media.

"I am happy to see Sandeep vanga sir. I love your craft, sir. And I love the way you use music, sir. I was thrilled watching Animal films. More than his films, I am a fan of his interviews. He's super straightforward in his answers," said Sivakarthikeyan, while speaking at a movie event in Chennai recently.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga created quite a controversy with his latest movie Animal . The movie was released last year to polarising reactions and it continues to dominate the headlines even several months after its initial release.

Animal divided the audiences into two decisive camps. One section hailed the film as ground-breaking and a modern classic, while the other section vehemently opposed it for allegedly glorifying all the wrong things under the sun.

Animal, the most polarising movie ever

Several prominent voices in the Tamil film industry criticized Animal. Sivakarthikeyan seems to belong to the fan club of Animal, steering clear of the film's critics. It's noteworthy that actor Trisha had also praised Animal as a "cult" movie on her Instagram page. But, she later deleted her praise following social media backlash.

Animal was widely perceived by many as an anti-feminist movie as many accused the film of depicting women in poor light. However, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has rubbished the allegations of the film being anti-women and he also took a no-holds-barred approach while hitting back at his critics following the release of Animal.

Starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, Animal revolves around the protagonist with unresolved father issues. The movie went on to break collection records in the Hindi film industry last year by raking in more than Rs 900 crore globally.

Animal is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
