Sivakarthikeyan plays THIS character in Maaveeran

Sivakarthikeyan is currently working on director Madonne Ashwin's upcoming film Maaveeran and the shoot for the film is underway in Chennai. Now, according to a report by ETimes, the actor is said to be playing a cartoonist in the film, who works at a popular media house. And it looks like his drawings begin to depict in his real life as well, thus drawing a parallel. The film has Aditi Shankar, who made her debut with Karthi's Viruman, as the leading lady. She is touted to be playing a journalist.

Taking to her social media handle, the actress had expressed her excitement. "Thank you @madonneashwin sir and @iamarunviswa sir for having me onboard @Siva_Kartikeyan sirrrr can’t wait to start shooting alongside you So happy that Appa was by my side on this special day #Maaveeran (sic)."

Earlier there was a buzz that Sivakarthikeyan plays a superhero character in Maaveeran. The film's title announcement poster was released by Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu. Mahesh Babu had wished the entire team on his social media handle, while releasing the video, "Happy to unveil the title of @Siva_Kartikeyan's #Maaveeran! Best wishes to the entire team! https://youtu.be/v_5NBJ2Urxo #Mahaveerudu @madonneashwin @ShanthiTalkies @iamarunviswa @bharathsankar12 @vidhu_ayyanna @philoedit (sic)." 

To which Sivakarthikeyan replied, "This is a great start for the film and to the team.. Thank you so much for your kind gesture @urstrulyMahesh sir.. Indeed a very special moment for me sir #Maaveeran (sic)." 

Maaveeran is a Tamil- Telugu bilingual and the Telugu version is titled Mahaveerudu. Music for the film is by Bharath Shankar. While cinematography is by Vidhu Ayyanna, editing is by Philomin Raj. Popular stunt choreographer Yannick Ben is handling the action sequences..

Sivakarthikeyan's last release was the romantic comedy Prince, in which he teamed up with director Anudeep KV of Jathi Ratnalu fame. The film opened to negative reviews and tanked at the box office.
