Sivakarthikeyan and Madonne Ashwin's Maaveeran team releases a special video ahead of Chess Olympiad

The team of Sivakarthikeyan's Maveeran team has come up with an innovative video to wish the chess players ahead of the 44th Chess Olympiad, which is being held in Chennai. Interestingly, this is the first Chess Olympiad held in India. The Maveeran team released a special video in which chess squares take on the form of warriors, and make strategic movies as they battle against each other. Madonna Ashwin, the film's director, shared the video on his social media page and wished the chess players. He wrote, "Best wishes to Team India competing in the #44thChessOlympiad, Chennaifrom #Maaveeran Team 👍❤️ @Siva_Kartikeyan @ShanthiTalkies @iamarunviswa Concept & Executed by @MangoPostIndia & @LokeshJey (sic)."

Earlier in the day, Superstar Rajinikanth, too had shared a throwback picture of him playing chess. Calling chess his favourite indoor sport, Rajinikanth had captioned the picture, "#ChessOlympiad2022 An indoor game I love the most … wishing all the chess minds the very best .. god blesss (sic). Director Vignesh Shivan had helmed a promotional video for the Olympiad, which has music by Academy Award winner AR Rahman.

In the meantime, Madonne Ashwin recently bagged two awards at the 68th National Film Awards. The awards were for Best Debutant Actor and Best Dialogues, both of which went to Ashwin. Mandela, starring ace comedian Yogi Babu in the lead, was a political satire, set in the backdrop of a village Panchayat election. The film was titled after the former President of South Africa, the late Nelson Mandela.

Meanwhile, the director is gearing up for Maveeran with Sivakarthikeyan. The title announcement video was released recently by Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu.The star cast of the film is yet to be announced. Music is by Bharath Shankar, cinematography is by Vidhu Ayyanna and editing is by Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies.
