Sivaangi, who rose to fame with the reality show, Cooku with Comali, took to Twitter, saying she has completed three years in the Tamil film industry. In 2019, she was launched on the Super Singer 7. Her post reads, "Three years ago, I got introduced to you all on Super Singer 7. Thank you for staying!"
In 2009, Sivaangi made her singing debut in the Tamil film, Pasanga, with Anbaale Azhagaagum. After a decade, she took part in a singing competition, which was broadcast on Star Vijay.
Sivaangi is the daughter of singers Krishnakumar and Binni Krishnakumar (of Ra Ra; Chandramukhi-fame).
She will be seen in the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer, Don, alongside RJ Vijay, among others. And, this marks her acting debut in the film industry.
While the transition to the big screen was challenging, it served to be a great learning experience, Sivaangi told the Times of India.
Speaking more about Don, Sivaangi, in an interview with the Times of India said, "I am very new to films. Siva (Sivakarthikeyan) anna and the production house took care of us amazingly and it was such a safe environment to work in. For a debut film, I feel so lucky to have gotten an opportunity to share screen space with Siva anna. I learnt something new every day in the process."
Sivaangi observed how acting on television is different from working in cinema. "The camera comes in search of us on television, but in the cinema, we have to go in search of the camera. I got used to this gradually. Dubbing and doing repeated takes of scenes were all different experiences. We’ll have to wait and watch if audiences accept me as an actor only after Don releases."
According to her, popularity is both a blessing and a responsibility. "When so many people support you, you want to work more to keep up the good work. I look at how they respond whenever I do something different. More than pressure, I look at this fandom as something that keeps me grounded. Because they also criticise me at times, and I look at that constructively. This is all a process of growth," Sivaangi observes.
Up next, Sivaangi will feature in Kasethan Kadavulada. Directed by R Kannan, the film has Shiva and Priya Anand, in lead roles. Kasethan Kasavulada is produced by Kannan through his production house, Masala Pix, in association with MKRP Productions. Also, she has Suraaj's Naai Sekar Returns, in her kitty. Starring Vadivelu, the project is now in its final leg of shooting. The first two schedules of the film have been shot in Chennai and Mysore. With music by Santhosh Narayanan, the Naai Sekar Returns trailer is expected to be released soon.
