Singham Again gets a new villain: Arjun Kapoor takes on a dark role opposite Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone?

Rohit Shetty's Singham Again has become among the most-anticipated films to hit the big screen next year. Jackie Shroff plays the villain in the upcoming cop drama (as shown in Sooryavanshi), which also stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, and Deepika Padukone. Now, as per the latest reports, Arjun Kapoor will be joining Rohit Shetty's cop universe.

Surprise edition to the Cop Universe

A source told Bollywood Hungama that the actor is indeed joining Singham Again, and this is the biggest surprise that Rohit and his team have kept under wraps. The plot thickens, though, as one may realise that Arjun is acting more like the villain than the hero in the third instalment of the Singham franchise. It's been decided that Arjun will play the bad guy opposite Singham (Ajay), Simmba (Ranveer), Sooryavanshi (Akshay), and Lady Singham (Deepika).

According to the same source, Arjun has already begun filming Singham Again with Rohit and his crew. The source added that the filmmaker is being extremely selective with his cast and is making every effort to make this the most successful film in the history of Indian cinema. He has the biggest names in Indian cinema on board, and the movie is set to smash records at the box office.

The expanding Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe

Singham Again is the fifth film in Rohit Shetty's universe, following Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi, and the third film in the Singham franchise. Soon, production will begin, and the film is scheduled for release in theatres in 2024.

During the promotions of Cirkus, Rohit announced that Deepika is set to be a part of Singham Again joining Ajay, who reprises the titular role. There are reports making the rounds that Ajay and Deepika are likely to play brother and sister in the film. However, the makers have kept all the details under wraps.

Currently, Rohit is gearing up for his OTT debut with Indian Police Force, starring Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role along with Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Vivek Oberoi.
