Singham Again: Ajay Devgn roars in the film's first-look poster; confirms retelling of Ramayana

And finally, the first-look poster of Ajay Devgn from Singham Again is out! The actor plays the titular role in Rohit Shetty's upcoming film, which is a part of the filmmaker's Cop Universe. Ajay is the first to lead this franchise, and this is the third installment in the Singham franchise. The actor roars just like a lion in the poster, with the image of the magnificent animal placed just next to him.

However, another interesting aspect of the poster is that it also features a silhouette of Lord Ram, confirming that Ajay plays the modern-day character of the mythological figure. Furthermore, this confirms that Singham Again blends the story of the Ramayana with the Cop Universe. 

While sharing the poster, Ajay captioned it as "He is Mighty; He is Power; He is Danger; He is Strength; Singham will roar again!"

Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe expands

Rohit Shetty began pre-production on Singham Returns in December 2022, a year after the release of Sooryavanshi. The filmmaker confirmed that Deepika Padukone will play the role of Shakti Shetty, the first female cop in the film, alongside Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan (who is also wielding a gun this time) from Singham Again. Jackie Shroff will reprise his role as the antagonist, Omar Hafeez, in Sooryavanshi. The film also features Tiger Shroff, who has joined the crew as ACP Satya. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will be back as Sooryavanshi, and Ranveer Singh will play the role of Simmba in the upcoming cop drama. 

Singham Returns is the fifth film in the Cop Universe after Singham (2011), Singham Returns (2014), Simmba (2018), and Sooryavanshi (2021).

In April 2023, the filmmakers confirmed the release date of August 15, 2024, exactly 10 years after Singham Returns.
