The final trailer to Sing 2 has been released and like its predecessor it’s a fun musical journey, with a lot of heart. The upcoming animated musical comedy is set for a theatrical release in US theatres on December 22, 2021.
The trailer shows the quirky bunch of musical misfits make their way to the posh Redshore City, where under the guidance of the ever ambitious Buster Moon they work on a new show. But of course it’s easier said than done, as the lovable oafs start to come undone when they have to pair their singing with some snazzy dance numbers.
In addition to the trials of prepping for their upcoming performance, the gang also take up a new, more difficult challenge; the task of bringing a rock legend back from retirement to be a part of their show.
The trailer also introduces some new characters, including those voiced by Bobby Cannavale,Adam Buxton, Bono and Halsey.
The upcoming movie is a sequel to the film Sing. The 2016 film tells the story of a theatre owning koala bear who arranges a singing competition in order to impress a potential investor. In the process he comes across a group of eccentric, yet sweet animals who possess exemplary musical talents.
The film features an ensemble voice cast including Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Nick Kroll, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Nick Offerman and Garth Jennings, all of whom reprise their roles in the sequel. Jennings has also directed the film.
