Simi Garewal watches Kangana Ranaut's Thalaivii, reveals 'Jayalalithaa wanted Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play her'

Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivii has been garnering a lot of attention now. Her performance received positive responses and the buzz is still on. But Jayalalithaa, Thalaivi herself wanted not Kangana but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play her role.

Veteran actor Simi Garewal took to her Twitter handle to review the film after watching it. She stated that even though she doesn’t like Kangana’s radical comments, she supports her acting skills. Simi also revealed that Jayalalithaa wanted Aishwarya to play her role but still, she would have approved Kangana’s portrayal.

She penned, ‘Altho I do not support #KanganaRanaut's radical comments...I do support her acting talent. In #Thailavii she gives it her heart & soul! Jaya-Ji wanted Aishwarya to play her..my hunch is JJ wud have approved of Kangana's portrayal. As for @thearvindswamy, he is MGR reincarnate!!’

Simi replied to a comment on her tweet wherein she praised Aravind and shared one complaint she had with the movie and she wrote, ‘You forget he is Arvind Swamy! You believe he REALLY is MGR! But they left out JJ's childhood...I wish they hadn't. It would have had a stronger impact in the story of Jayalalithaa.. but that's only my opinion.’

Besides Kangana, Talaivii also features Madhoo, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Bhagyashree and Poorna in pivotal roles. The film has been garnering positive reviews from viewers and critics as well.

Meanwhile, Kangana has a few other projects lined up which include, Dhaakad which co-stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta. She will also partake in Tejas where she plays the role of an Air Force Pilot.
