Silambarasan's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, which was released in theatres in September, garnered appreciation from several quarters for the performance of actors, fight sequences and background score by AR Rahman. The Gautham Menon directorial started streaming on Amazon Prime Video a month ago.
The team has now unveiled a BTS video of the intriguing interval fight episode from the film. The three-minute video has action choreographer Lee Whittaker seen composing the sequence in different ways. Silambarasan is seen following his instructions carefully and takes part in rehearsals multiple times.
The actor and others are said to have okayed the whole episode in the first take. The scene is one of the most significant sequences in the movie which is elevated by terrific music by Rahman. The gangster drama's 50 days was recently celebrated by its makers, and is likely to have a second installment soon.
Fans of Silambarasan are waiting for the team to announce an official date on the commencement of its sequel. Radhika Sarathkumar, Siddique, Jaffer Sadiq and Neeraj Madhav play pivotal roles in the project which has Siddhi Idnani essaying the female lead. The film was Silambarasan's second outing this year; he was seen in a cameo in Maha a few months ago.
Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaada marked the actor's third collaboration with Gautham Menon after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Acham Enbathu Madamaiyada. The movie ends with a sequence which hints at its sequel. He plays Muthu, a naïve small town boy who goes on to become a leading gangster in Mumbai.
How he takes revenge on a few people for the death of his little son forms the plot of the second part. His next release is Pathu Thala which will hit the screens around March 2023.
