The buzz around Salman Khan’s Sikandar has been massive since the day the movie was announced, and no one was remotely prepared to see him join hands with AR Murugadoss, a veteran filmmaker. But just as 2024 has been a year of surprises, this was one of the biggest, and fans have been eager to learn everything about this magnum opus scheduled for Eid 2025. One of the most asked questions was who the leading lady opposite Salman in the film would be. It turns out we now have an answer, and it is none other than Rashmika Mandanna, who is joining Khan after enjoying the blockbuster success of her last Hindi outing Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Mandanna has even reacted to the news.
Rashmika Mandanna Confirms Joining Salman Khan In Sikandar
This morning, it was reported that Rashmika Mandanna is all set to join Salman Khan in Sikandar. The makers were quick to confirm the news, probably to prevent further rumors about the update. Rashmika herself reacted to the news, taking to her X handle (formerly called Twitter), she wrote, “You guys have been asking me for the next update for a long time, and here it is... Surprise!! I am truly grateful and honored to be a part of #Sikandar #SajidNadiadwala @BeingSalmanKhan @ARMurugadoss @NGEmovies @WardaNadiadwala. Releasing in cinemas on EID 2025! #RM25.”
According to a Pinkvilla report, the makers were looking for a fresh pairing and wanted a new face alongside Salman Khan. “Sajid Nadiadwala was on the lookout for a fresh pairing as the script demands that at the writing level. He narrated the subject to Rashmika and the actress was excited not just by her part, but also the overall approach of AR Murugadoss and Sajid Nadiadwala to mount the film,” said a source close to the development.
Talking about the scale and plot of the film, the source added, “There’s a strong story that results in an outflow of drama and emotions. The wholesomeness that the script has to offer is what has excited both Salman and Rashmika for the film, and the duo is all excited to take it on floors in June.”

Sikandar, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, is being directed by AR Murugadoss and is mounted on a massive budget.
