Sikandar box office day 2 predictions: Salman Khan starrer might see some redemption as India celebrates Eid today

Tracking Salman Khan’s journey at the box office with Sikandar is a given. The movie, starring Bhaijaan, marks his return to the Eid release window—one of the most anticipated events of the year. Also featuring Rashmika Mandanna and directed and written by A.R. Murugadoss, the excitement among fans was through the roof. The film finally hit the big screens yesterday, but its Day 1 collection did not show promising signs, which was concerning. Now, as we enter Day 2, predictions indicate that the film is showing some growth—a positive trajectory that Sikandar desperately needs.

Sikandar Box Office Day 2 Predictions

On its first day, Sikandar failed to cross the ₹30 crore mark—a significant disappointment for a Salman Khan movie releasing on Eid. Given this, all eyes are now on Day 2, as India celebrates Eid today, meaning increased footfall in theatres.

According to advance bookings for Day 2, Sikandar is expected to see at least a 20% rise in collections compared to Day 1. This means the movie is set to witness notable growth, a much-needed boost after its underwhelming opening.

However, with mostly negative reviews, Sikandar needs strong word-of-mouth to sustain a successful box office run. The first three days will benefit from Eid excitement, but beyond that, the film must find ways to attract audiences to be deemed a hit. Breaking records comes much later.

Sikandar vs. Tiger 3

The last time Salman Khan met his fans on Eid was with Tiger 3, which also released on a Sunday. The film, part of Yash Raj Films’ celebrated Spy Universe, was among the year’s biggest successes.

With Sikandar now released, comparisons were inevitable, taking us back to November 12, 2023, when Tiger 3 hit theatres. According to Sacnilk, Sikandar earned approximately ₹26 crore on its opening day, falling far behind initial predictions.

What’s even more concerning is that pre-release buzz suggested Sikandar might replicate the business of Tiger 3. However, the film has failed to even match Tiger 3’s Day 1 collection, let alone surpass it. The Katrina Kaif starrer earned ₹53 crore on its first day, meaning Sikandar is trailing by nearly 50% in comparison.

Sikandar stars Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, alongside Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, Anjani Dhawan, and an ensemble cast. Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film was scheduled for release on March 30, 2025.
