Salman Khan's Sikandar has crossed half a century at the Box Office, which leaves hope that the movie might touch, if not cross Rs. 200 crore in its lifetime run

Sikandar finally saw some boost in Box Office numbers on day 2. Although not a lot, the movie has been able to cross Rs. 50 crore in two days. This leaves some hope that Salman Khan's film could actually mint over Rs. 100 crore and might touch, if not cross Rs. 200 crore at the Box Office.
Salman Khan did afterall get an Eidi from his fans, even if it wasn't much. His movie Sikandar got the boost on Eid, but again, it wasn't a lot. The movie earned Rs. 29 crore on day 2 according to Sacnilk, which was a slight boost from Rs. 26 crore on day 1. Owing to that, Sikandar has now earned Rs. 55 crore in two days.
Sikandar released on Sunday. The movie got its cooling-off period and a few more people started going to theatres on Eid. The surprise was that, as opposed to day one, where the footfalls reduced at night, on day 2, the footfalls were the highest (almost 30%).
Although other movies face the litmus test on Monday, Sikandar's commences on Tuesday because the festival of Eid fell on Monday. The real test for a movie begins when people go to theatres during a workday. If people visit theatres after work even on Tuesday, thus giving Sikandar's Box Office a boost, then the film has a definite scope to touch, if not cross Rs. 200 crore, much like Salman Khan had predicted. It is to be noted that his previous release Tiger 3 had crossed Rs. 200 crore mark, but then, the movie was already made on a budget of Rs. 300 crore. So, Salman will need a lot more than Rs. 200 crore even for Sikandar to be declared a superhit (the film has earned back at least 70% of its budget through digital rights and so, it wouldn't take much for Sikandar to be in profit).
If you have not been able to visit theatres but want to watch a Bhaijaan film from the comfort of your home, you can watch his previous Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan with just a subsciption to OTTplay Premium. Happy streaming!
