Sidharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani wedding: Here's what Vikram Batra's brother has to say about the Shershaah couple's wedding

Shershaah had been a special film for a number of reasons. The film, which told the gut wrenching story of Vikram Batra, an Indian soldier who was martyred in the Kargil War in 1999, had Sidharth Malhotra essaying the role of the war hero, while Kiara Advani played his girlfriend, Dimple. The acclaimed film featured the first on screen pairing of the couple, who recently tied the knot. Among the invitees of their wedding reception were none other than Vikram Batra’s twin brother Vishal Batra, and the latter’s family. Vishal recently opened up about the duo’s pairing and his friendship with Sidharth.

In conversation with ETimes, Vishal revealed that he had first met Sidharth back in 2015, when Shershaah was being developed. Even after the film’s release, the duo had been keeping in touch regularly, and Vishal considers the actor a ‘good friend’.

Vishal said that it was lovely that Sidharth had invited him and his family, and even Kiara had also sent them a message asking them to attend the same. As Vishal could not see his own twin brother’s wedding, it had taken him through a plethora of emotions. Vishal found it hard to find the words that expressed what he was really going through.

Vishal, who attended the wedding with his wife and daughter, said that although he never asked Sidharth about the wedding, a co-producer of Shershaah had told him that the couple were planning to get married. Saying that he felt that the film brought Sidharth and Kiara closer, Vishal said, “The real Vikram and Dimple could not get married, but the reel Vikram and Dimple have, and that is a lovely feeling. Our blessings are with them. They are a lovely couple”.

Vishal even spoke about how Sidharth had asked the former to attend the trailer launch of Mission Majnu. The former spoke of how the duo shared a brotherly feeling between them.
