Sidharth Malhotra announces Vvan, a folkore that could be inspired from Iringole Kavu - All you need to know

Sidharth Malhotra is slated to be seen in a folk thriller next. The actor, who had kept fans intrigued, has finally announced his project Vvan. The story will be set in a forest and is scheduled for 2025 release. The story could tell the tale of Iringole Kavu. Here's everything else you wanted to know...

Sidharth shared a teaser announcement of his next project, Vvan. The folk thriller sees glimpses of torchlight and a man walking on the road in the middle of a dense forest. The road is situated outside of a temple that is right in the center of the forest. The poster shows us two sets of eyes on each side of the forest to announce Vvan - Force of the Forrest (a wordplay on forest and for rest).

Is Vvan based on Iringole Kavu?

Iringole Kavu is a folklore but leans more towards mythology. It is about Lord Krishna. Iringole Kavu is a temple in the middle of a dense forest. The temple, while decided to Goddess Durga, has a different backstory. The temple based in Kerala is believed to be constructed by the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu, Lord Parasurama.

Kansa, who was afraid of Devaku and Vasudevar's eighth son Krishna, imprisoned them, to be able to kill the baby. The couple sent Krishna to Vrindavan and placed another baby girl, and Kansa intended to kill the girl too. However, when he tried to, she became one with the wind and was known as Irrinnole. The area itslef got the name Iringole and it is believed to date that Gods and Goddesses surround the area in the form of trees and plants. Eventually, it turned into a thick forest.

When will Vvan release?

While making the announcement, Sidharth also confirmed that the movie will be out on the big screens during Chhath next year. The announcement comes during Chhath Puja 2024.

Vvan brings Balaji and TVF together

Vvan is the first time that the TV experts and OTT famed production houses come together for a movie. Needless to say, this is an interesting project that is eagerly awaited.
