DJ Tillu was a smash hit at the box office and made hero Siddhu Jonnalagadda an overnight sensation in Telugu cinema. The character of Tillu has gone so deep into the audience that the makers had no choice but to announce a sequel.
Titled Tillu Square, the film is busy with its shoot as of now and a debutante named Malik Ram is directing the project. Anupama Parameswaran plays the female lead in this film which is a crime comedy being made on a budget double that of the first part. The film has been postponed already twice and disappointed the fans.
Tillu Square has locked its theatrical release on October 6, 2023, as of now. But we have come to know that the film has been postponed. The delay in the shoot has forced the makers to postpone the film. As per the update, the makers are looking at either December or January 2024 Sankranthi Eve to release this film. An official confirmation is yet to be made in this regard.
The pre-release business of this film is also being done on a massive note. Sithara Entertainments is the production house behind this film and they made big money with the first part. This time, the stakes are high as the hype for the sequel is massive. The makers are planning their own releases in many parts of the Telugu states as per the news.
The OTT rights of the film have also been sold for a whopping amount as far as we know. In the first part, Neha Sshetty played the female lead and her character of Radhika became so famous that everyone used to think that Neha Sshett's real name was Radhika.
But sadly, she is not part of the sequel as Anupama Parameswaran replaced her. But there is a strong rumor that Neha will be seen in the sequel as well. For now, the release has been postponed and a new date will be announced soon.
