With just a couple of days for the release of Sibiraj's thriller Maayon, the team released a new promo of the film. Maayon is directed by debutant Kishore and has Tanya Ravichandran playing the leading lady. The film, which will hit screens on June 24, is written, produced, and presented by Arunmozhi Manickam of Double Meaning Production. The rest of the star cast includes KS RaviKumar and Radha Ravi.
The production house shared the new promo in which Radha Ravi is seen saying that he has no idea what would happen if the door to the temple is opened, leaving the audience intrigued. The production house captioned the tweet, "Here is a 10 sec promo #1 from #Maayon 馃 In cinemas from this Friday, Jun 24th. #MaayonFromJun24 #Maayonarmy #MaayonRatham @ManickamMozhi @ilaiyaraaja @Sibi_Sathyaraj @actortanya @ksravikumardir @divomusicindia @proyuvraaj (sic)." The bookings for the film will begin tomorrow.
Sibiraj shared a new poster from the film on his social media handle, and wrote, "Watch Me as archaeologist #ArjunManimaran in the interesting Mythological thriller #Maayon from June 24th in theatres 馃 Reservation starts from tomorrow!An Isaigyani @ilaiyaraaja Musical @ManickamMozhi @DoubleMProd_ @DirKishore @actortanya @ksravikumardir @APIfilms @proyuvraaj (sic)."
The trailer of the film itself had piqued the curiosity of the audience. The plot of Maayon revolves around an archaeologist who sets out to discover mysterious details at a 5,000 year-old temple and tries to uncover its secrets. In the trailer, we see Radha Ravi saying that divinity shouldn't be researched, but felt deep inside one's body.
Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music for the mystery thriller. Ram Prasad has cranked the camera and editing is by Ram Pandian and Kondalarao. The shoot for the film was completed before the pandemic, and the Covid scenario across the world, pushed its release. Sibiraj had earlier stated that Maayon will be a first-of-its-kind movie in Tamil. The team had created a special trailer for the visually challenged and had also unveiled a Maayon Ratham, which toured the state.
