Raja Chaudhary, TV actor Shweta Tiwari’s ex-husband and Palak Tiwari’s father, has opened up in a recent interview about his struggles with alcoholism and how his severed ties with Shweta Tiwari and second wife Shveta Sood has impacted his life.

Wherever Raja Chaudhary — reality TV contestant and television star Shweta Tiwari’s ex-husband—goes, controversies follow.

In 2012, after his divorce with Shweta Tiwari, who had filed a domestic violence case against him, he had tied the knot with Shveta Sood but, unfortunately, even that relationship ended in divorce. Now, according to Chaudhary, Sood is asking for alimony. His recent romantic relationship with now ex-girlfriend Shradha Sharma saw her accusing him of infidelity.

In all his relationships, his partners have spoken sharply against his alleged alcoholism. And now, in an interview with ETimes, he says the crumbling of his marriages have resulted in his parents not trusting him.

“I was staying with them in UP during the lockdown. But the harsh truth is that if you are doing nothing, you are not respected. I devoted myself to them, but they felt they don't need me. They said I should return to Mumbai as I don't belong to the place where they stay. I left. They don't trust me,” he told ETimes.

During the interview, he admitted to be struggling with an acute drinking problem, as reported by Zoom digital, and has been to multiple doctors for the same, including psychiatrists. He went on to add that he is heartbroken and that he is doing his best to fight his addiction to alcohol.

He also shared that his downward spiral began in 2007 when he parted ways with TV star Shweta Tiwari. “It all began (referring to the changes in his life) in 2007 when Shweta Tiwari separated from me. Then, I got into Bigg Boss and several things started happening. Something turned around. I am portrayed bad but I am not,” he added.

Chaudhary went on to reveal that the actress has blocked his number on her phone and that he only wants to present his side of the story and talk things out with her. As for their daughter Palak, he revealed that he texts her or sends emails and waits for her to reply as she is busy and doesn’t get the time to meet him.

Raja Chaudhary shared during the course of his interview that he is currently working in the hospitality industry but is not ‘living’ but merely ‘surviving’. His expenses are being handled by his family who have the means to do so, as per the report by ETimes.
